Major/Essential Functions
The Learning Assistance Program (LAP) serves as a resourceful support system to aid in the academic development of student-athletes. Our comprehensive program addresses individual learning needs and concerns, fostering independent learning and skill development both inside and outside the classroom. We are dedicated to supporting student-athletes in their pursuit of academic excellence, personal growth, and professional development.
Specific Expectation
General Expectations - Frequent communication with the Marsha Sharp Center for Student-Athletes staff. - Communicate with Academic Advisors to discuss student-athlete progress/development. - Provide academic skill/strategy development and learning techniques to a caseload of student-athletes at various learning levels. - Learn the Screening/Testing process: - LAP Questionnaire & Learning Profile - Registration with Student Disability Services - Review different types of learning accommodations - Project Management
Required Qualifications
Qualified applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university and previous experience with collegiate or professional athletics.
