Athletics Compliance
The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women’s and 10 men’s programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation’s premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as “The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the Athletics Compliance department. This position reports to the Deputy Athletic Director for Compliance.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Manages and monitors all aspects of student services provided to student-athletes, including, but not limited to, financial aid, meals and housing.
Ensures appropriate systems are in place to monitor athletics aid and other financial aid awarded to student-athletes.
Manages the National Letter of Intent (
NLI
) Program for Rutgers.
Ensures that all
NCAA
, Big Ten and
NLI
rules are observed in the provision of athletics and other financial aid to student-athletes.
Monitors all financial aid provided to student-athlete from outside agencies.
Assists with
NCAA
rules interpretations and education relative to student-athlete service areas.
Works with Residential Life staff to manage the housing process for student-athletes.
Works with Dining services to assist student-athletes with meal plans.
Works with financial aid office, registrar, admissions and student accounting to manage student financial aid and billing.
Helps with monitoring recruiting topics such as
CARA
, team travel, recruiting.
Helps with monitoring of Name/Image/Likeness deals.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience.

- Good working knowledge of the NCAA rules.
- Sound working knowledge of Legislative Services Database.
- Sound working knowledge of word processing.
- Ability to efficiently work within student administration databases, spreadsheets and databases. Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Abillity to work well with financial numbers.

- Advanced degree.
- Knowledge of state and Federal financial aid regulations.
- Experience in compliance at the NCAA Division I level and/or in university financial aid or financial services.
- Experience with FAMS & IMS.
