Purpose:

To serve as the Quarterbacks Coach for the football program at Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU)
within the philosophy and direction of the Head Coach as well as demonstrating a commitment to
live out and advance the OBU mission statement through the sport of Football. Must comply with all
NCAA, Great American Conference and institutional rules and regulations.

Essential Functions:

• The Quarterbacks Coach will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs
for the quarterbacks on the football team. This role requires a deep understanding of offensive
strategies, player development, and game preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Player Development:

o Mentor and train quarterbacks to enhance their skills in passing, decision-making, and

game management.

o Conduct individual and group training sessions focusing on technique, footwork, and

mechanics.

o

• Game Preparation:

o Analyze game films to identify strengths and weaknesses of both players and opponents.
o Collaborate with the offensive coordinator to develop game plans and strategies.
o Assist in scouting and recruiting potential quarterback prospects.
o Build relationships with high school coaches and players to promote the program.

• Team Collaboration:

o Collaborate closely with other coaching staff to ensure cohesive offensive strategies.
o Participate in team meetings and contribute to overall team strategy.

Qualifications:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree
• Advanced football knowledge
• Strong knowledge of football strategies and techniques
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Applicant must have the ability to communicate effectively through emails, text messages and

social media

• Applicant must be proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Applicant must have experience with Hudl
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to carry at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Preferred:

• Previous coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level, preferably with quarterbacks
• Master’s degree
• Collegiate coaching experience

Special Requirements:

• Must be an active member of a local evangelical church
