JobSummary

TheRacquetballassistantcoachwill have a soundunderstanding of the developmentof studentsto fulfill their missionasBYUstudentsandmembersofTheChurch of JesusChristof Latter-day Saints.Theassistantcoachwill fulfill the responsibilitiesof assistantcoaching,scheduling,anddevelopment of the BYURacquetballteam.The assistant coach willworkeffectively in aprofessional environmenton andoffthefield togetherwith Universityadministrators.TheassistantcoachwillfollowUniversity guidelines relatedto academicstandards, policies, Honor Code,and administrative needs.Thisposition isapart-time year-to-year contract,renewableannually, as determinedby theUniversity.Thetime commitmentestablished by theUniversity is intendedtobe in linewiththeAffordableCare Act. This positionreportstothe Extramural SportsProgramManager.

Essential Functions

• TheRacquetballassistantcoachwill be responsible foralldealingswiththe BYURacquetballteam
• Responsibleforteampractices,gamedaypreparations,teamtravel,andcommunicatingwith University administratorsonallmatterspertaining to the team,students,andUniversitypolicy.
• Ensurecompliance withUniversityguidelinesincluding grades,classattendance,theHonorCode,andBYU Housingrequirementsforallmembers ofthe Racquetballteam.Trains,mentors,andworksdirectlywithassistantcoachesandathletictrainers.
• Maintainsresponsibilityforteamrelatedequipmentanditsstorage.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor'sDegree;preferablyinPhysicalEducation,RecreationManagement,ExerciseScience&Wellness,StudentAffairs,orrelatedfield(required)
• Assistantcoached3ormoreyearsathighschoolorequivalentlevel(preferred)
• AssistantcoachedRacquetballataUniversitylevel(preferred)

Employee Class: 3/4 Time Contract (28 hour)

Work Location: Provo Campus
