| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director’s Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department’s guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.

| Position Summary |
This is a 25 hours per week position with hours of 8:00 AM till 1:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. Must be willing to work nights and weekends during the playing and recruiting periods. Serving as the first point of contact for the Football Center, the individual in this position will greet visitors, guests, team members, staff and coaches. Responsible to help people feel welcome, answer questions, and direct them to other parts of the building.

| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Demonstrated computer skills, proficient interpersonal communication skills, and attention to detail. Employee should be proficient with Windows-based applications such as Microsoft Office, and be able to utilize the internet in order to locate information regarding the University, as appropriate. Must be willing to work nights and weekends during the playing and recruiting periods. Must be highly organized, friendly and engaging, and demonstrate the ability to multitask very well, and able to prioritize projects, as needed. Individual must demonstrate a highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction, demonstrate passion for excellence with respect to treating and providing guests and visitors with clear and concise information, both verbally and in writing. Must demonstrate a pleasant, patient and helpful attitude and provide the highest quality courteous and positive interaction with all who come to the Football Center. Must be punctual and reliable!

Ability to work in high volume, dynamic work environment. Ability to convey accurate concise information in a timely manner.

Must be able to work in dynamic and sometimes stressful situations. Keen attention to details. Ability to lift/move up to 20 lbs.
