The Indiana University Athletics Department and IU School of Optometry, have a ten year relationship of doing cutting edge medical research in several diverse fields, including concussions, vision, and cardiology. Dr. Nicholas Port is now recruiting a skilled full-time research associate / project coordinator for a new study on orthopedic hamstring function with a proposed start date of March 1, 2024. Dr. Port and the IU Athletic Department are participating in the multi-center Hamstring InjuRy (
HAMIR
) study ( https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.g... ). This study of IU football players involves preseason testing and postinjury follow-ups utilizing a variety of tools including magnetic resonance imaging (
MRI
), instrumented strength metrics, and instrumented on-field biomechanics.

The School of Optometry has well-established professional degree and clinical programs, as well as widely recognized research and graduate programs. Publish research on orthopedic injuries
Become proficient at utilizing multiple state-of-the-art tools in sports science
Become proficient at operating a

machine

Required Qualifications
Candidates should possess good interpersonal and communication skills, excellent organizational skills, strong work ethic and a high motivation to learn. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree
Preferred: Master’s degree in Exercise science, Rehabilitation, Kinesiology, or related field.
Preferred Skills
Experience in exercise science and sports science and or in orthopedic injury rehabilitation. Experience in conducting published scientific research.
