Expired Date: Oct 23, 2024Summary : The Security Officer is a part-time position (~16 hours per week; some weeks with no hours scheduled due to holidays or work requirement) that is a member of Queens University’s Public Safety and Campus Police department and is responsible for ensuring security to Queens Sports Complex Athletic Facilities by conducting foot patrols and security checks, monitoring card access system for unauthorized users, responding quickly and appropriately to incidents, identifying and reporting hazards, assisting with special events and crowd control and completing accurate and thorough written reports.
The Security Officer reports to the officer in charge, up to the Chief of Police. This position is not exempt from provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is eligible to earn overtime pay for hours worked above 40 in a single work week.
This position is considered a responsible employee for purposes of the university’s Sexual Misconduct Policy. As such, this position is required to report any incident of sexual misconduct or interpersonal violence to the university’s Title IX Coordinator when made aware of such.
