Description

Erskine College seeks a Full-Time Senior Athletic Trainer for immediate hire. Primary responsibilities
include providing athletic training services to Erskine College Athletes. The candidate will also be
expected to aid in the daily operation of the Erskine College Athletic Training Center. This includes
maintaining of supply inventory, maintaining athlete medical records on ATS injury tracking software, and
other duties as assigned. The candidate will be expected to act as a preceptor for the Health Science
undergraduate program. The candidate is expected to uphold and agree with the mission statement of
the college.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Degree from a CAATE-accredited institution
• Master’s degree in athletic training or related field is preferred
• 2+ years of athletic training experience at the collegiate level
• BOC certified
• SC state certification or eligible for certification in the state
• Certified as a professional rescuer by the American Red Cross or an equivalent certification

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting Head Athletic Trainer with:

• Coverage of assigned sports’ practices and games, home and away, including setting up, pre- and

post-game treatments, response to injuries through field evaluations and first aid (this will
include weekends and possible holidays)

• Responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for

student-athletes

• Administer first aid to injured athletes and apply protective devices such as taping, bandaging, or

bracing

• Communicate with athletes and coaches about the injury and the athlete’s participation status
• Arrange and communicate medical appointments between physicians and athletes
• Assist in record keeping and documentation for files using Athletic Trainer System (ATS)
• Assist with daily functions of the Athletic Training Room
• Assist with supervision of student workers/interns in the Athletic Training Room
• Other duties as assigned

Compensation includes the following:

• Salary based on experience and qualifications. Base Salary of $55,000
• Housing assistance, ability to provide rentable on-campus housing
• Retention bonus available, $3,000 retention bonus with two-year contracts
• Benefits package as provided by Erskine College
• Payment of national and state dues
• Funding for continuing education/professional development
