The Deputy Athletic Director/Chief of Staff reports to the Director of Athletics and directs all revenue generating activities in Athletics/ULM Athletic Foundation to include, but not limited to, development, ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, marketing and promotions, concessions, merchandise sales, apparel contracts, facility rentals, and any other revenue generation opportunities. In addition, this position will function as second-in-command in Athletics which includes representing ULM Athletics in the Athletic Director’s absence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Create and execute a development plan to increase financial contributions from community.
Build donor relationships by utilizing research, objectives, programs of cultivation and solicitation, evaluation, and stewardship.
Establish and maintain a close working relationship with ULM Athletic Foundation Board
Work closely with the ULM Foundation development staff to build and maintain momentum and focus for all fundraising efforts.
Serves as department liaison with the University Office of Marketing and Communication and other external related departments on campus.
Serve as a sport administrator for selected sport(s) as directed by the Athletic Director
Oversees event and facilities management for both athletic and non-athletic events held in athletic facilities, as well as facility projects and renovations
Oversees internal operations which includes corporate sponsorships with Van Wagner, concessions, and apparel contract
Oversees the ticket office operations which includes ticket reconciliations, premium seating, and the selling of both season and single game tickets
Oversee athletic marketing and communication which includes publicity and communications for sport programs and its student-athletes and the entire athletic department, in-game promotions, and marketing
Assist Athletic Director in hiring all head coaches and senior administrators to maintain the highest quality athletic program in all sports.

Assist Athletic Director with plans, procedures, and initiatives for revenue generation opportunities.
Serve on the Director of Athletics’ senior staff to plan, implement, support, and review annual initiatives for the athletic department.
Enhance an organization that executes the business of Division I athletics while also being a committed partner with the academic community.
Implement plans, policies, procedures, and programs that are in compliance with the University of Louisiana System, university, conference, NCAA rules and regulations, applicable state and federal laws, and which promote the mission of the Department, as well as the University’s high standard of academic excellence and the general welfare of student-athletes.
Help ensure an environment that is committed to the best interest of student-athletes consistent with their educational, ethical, social, and physical development.

Represent intercollegiate athletics at ULM and community events and meetings as needed.
Understand and communicate the value of athletics to the overall mission and strategic plan of the University to both internal and external constituencies.
Effectively provide accountability for all fiscal matters within the department of athletics in collaboration with the Director of intercollegiate athletics.
Additional duties as assigned by Director of Athletics.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree and a minimum of 10 years collegiate athletic experience.
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Proven history of excellent administrative and financial management skills.
Business acumen and skill in revenue-generation.
Strong communication skills and an ability to work effectively with multiple constituent groups.
