Job Duties

- Develops and manages an active portfolio of 100-175 prospective donors that result in philanthropic dollars for the University.
- Qualifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards a portfolio of donors with a capacity of securing $10k gifts to achieve fundraising goals.
- Achieves annual fundraising (gifts and pledges) goals of $750,000 to $1,000,000 in new commitments.
- Holds a minimum of 110 face to face visits annually.
- Works closely with the campus Deans and Athletics Director, regularly involving the Athletics Director in face-to-face visits with benefactors and Deans as appropriate. This primarily involves driving personal vehicle and occasionally UIW vehicle.
- Participates and strategically outlines regional based activities, proposal preparation, strategy development and solicitation executed within a 12–24 month time frame.
- Works closely with campus partners and treats those partners with dignity and respect.
- Works collaboratively, proactively and in a professional service-oriented manner with all institutional internal and external stakeholders to further the development goals while representing the core values of the institution.
- Documents results of contacts with donors in Raiser’s Edge.
- Maintains documentation on a timely basis for closing of each respective month and input, to include contact reports, outlining donor strategies, proposal development and monthly submissions.
- Participates in Monday morning huddle, bi-weekly prospect discussions, monthly proposal meetings, and quarterly activity check in meetings.
- Works in partnership with the Vice President on managing volunteers and committee members for the Development Board.
- Serves as a role model in carrying out the University of the Incarnate Word’s mission. Ensures actions reflect the values and principles of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word and the University of the Incarnate Word, to include attending to the dignity of others.
- Serves as manager for both staff and teams assigned.
- Establishes and maintains an environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and ethical behavior.
- Supports other members of the management team and their work.

Qualifications
| Knowledge Skills and Abilities |
- Demonstrated strong computing and online research skills, with Microsoft Office software suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel), Raiser’s Edge or similar software, and development specific research tools.
- Knowledge of current trends in alumni engagement, moves management, prospect research, wealth analysis and business.
- Ability to maintain regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; an aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solving; ability to work well under pressure and maintain flexibility.
- Highly developed relationship building skills.
- Highly developed research and reading comprehension skills.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify understand and interpret personal compensation, private company, securities holdings and other financial information from a variety of sources.

Bachelor’s Degree.

| Required Work Experience |
- Minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of professional experience in development, constituent relations, community outreach or related field.
- Two (2) years of experience supervising professional level staff.

| Preferred Qualifications |
Experience working in donor outreach, engagement, or fundraising within a higher education setting.
|
| Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations |
Must have a valid driver’s license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with occasional evenings and weekends as required to meet departmental goals and attend events.

- Ability to actively engage in events for extended periods of time.
- Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues to actively engage existing/potential donors, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
