Philanthropic support enables our athletes to perform at the elite levels they do in their sports, studies and public service. As the Senior Director of Stewardship for UCLA Athletics, you will build and execute a comprehensive donor stewardship and events program that enhances the donor experience and advances the Athletic Department’s strategic priorities. In this vital role, you will serve as a close partner to the Executive Senior Associate Athletic Office/Chief Development Officer and will work in collaboration with the frontline fundraising team, marketing and communications team, university stewardship teams and coaches to broaden and deepen the magnitude and impact of donor engagement.  You will create inventive stewardship plans, develop best practices, improve and enhance tracking processes and implement strategies that create powerful moments, thoughtfully curated experiences/events, coach-athlete engagement, non-athletic activity and other tactics that increase donor retention and movement of donors up the giving pyramid. As the Senior Director, you will lead, guide and support staff to produce high quality and successful stewardship outcomes that facilitate relationships and maximize propensity to give.  You will analyze effectiveness of stewardship initiatives, events and communications programs, expanding their depth and impact of outcomes to enhance donors’ relationships. Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience working with donors to include strong knowledge of the donor cycle and managing a donor acknowledgement program, preferably in philanthropy and/or prior experience working with constituents in a related highly customer services driven field. (Required)
• Prior experience in intercollegiate athletic fund-raising. (Preferred)
• Proven management, administrative and supervisory experience with ability to lead high functioning teams that meet or exceed goals; demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and contribute to the culture and model the values of UCLA. (Required)
• Collaborative skills and experience engaging and bringing key stakeholders – athletic directors, chief executives, leadership volunteers, board members, coaches, etc. - into the stewardship and engagement process. (Required)
• Prior experience conceptualizing, planning and implementing events. (Required)
• Volunteer and committee management experience. (Required)
• Ability to think strategically about donor engagement, understand the importance of donor retention and generate creative strategies to achieve high retention rates with measurable ROI. (Required)
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills with proficiency in the art of storytelling and experience in developing impact and other reports and presentations. (Required)
• Strategic and innovative thinker with well-developed interpersonal skills and a strong understanding of and ability to develop and sustain resilient and dynamic relationships with a wide variety of internal/external constituents. (Required)
• Organized and highly detail oriented; strong time/project management skills with ability to be proactive, work independently and accept responsibility; adept at establishing priorities and managing workflow to fulfill objectives and meet goals according to deadlines in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision. (Required)
• Impeccable integrity and discretion in dealing with donors and other stakeholders/ constituents and in the handling and maintenance of confidential information. (Required)
• Knowledge of all logistical support elements of events/event production including experience working directly with vendors on contract negotiations, catering, printed material design, rentals, complex audio/video set-up, mailing, and parking. (Required)
• Ability to apply mature judgment and analytical skills to execute work and programmatic activities. (Required)
• Ability to interpret financial data for fund tracking, donor stewardship practices and drafting customized stewardship related reports. (Required)
• Knowledge of university budget procedures is preferred as is knowledge of university/event related policies, procedures, campus venues, services and departments. (Preferred)
• Ability to adhere to and comply with NCAA, Big Ten and University rules and regulations; or equivalent compliance experience. (Required)
