UCF Athletics - Men's Basketball

 

Under the supervision of the UCF men's basketball head coach, the special assistant to the head coach is actively engaged in the evaluation, acquisition and retention of student-athletes towards the achievement of program goals and objectives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively identifies and evaluates prospective student-athletes via scouting reports, game analysis and networking within UCFAA, Conference, and NCAA guidelines. Establishes and maintains industry relationships as appropriate.
  • Develops and maintains a database of potential players and their scouting information. Collaborates with coaching staff to identify team needs and develops / implements appropriate recruitment / acquisition strategies towards the achievement of roster management goals.
  • Participate at events / tournaments / other to build relationships and promote UCF men’s basketball.
  • Collaborates with coaching staff in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies to attract and secure top talent, with focus on current and future needs of the program.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with potential players 
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with agents, scouts, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develops and implements sourcing strategies to build a pipeline of prospective student-athletes.
