| Job Summary/Basic Function |
About This Role:
The Lamar University Director of Sports Nutrition role is intended for registered dietitians interested in pursuing a career in collegiate athletics. This position will allow the opportunity to work with Division I student-athletes, while also developing administrative skills (Ex. budgeting, inventory, etc.). The position will work directly with all seventeen sports teams and will serve as the preceptor for the Dietetic Internship Graduate Level Program on-campus, while serving an integral role in the Lamar University Athletics Department. Position reports directly to the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator.

Student Employee & Volunteer Mentorship
Recruitment & Retention of Student Workers
Administrative & Other Duties
Key Competencies:
• Ability to collaborate with other staff members within the Lamar University Athletics department and the Lamar University College of Education and Human Development
• Must be receptive to feedback/constructive criticism and adaptable to a variety of situations
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to process scientific research and communicate information to student-athletes effectively and efficiently
• Punctuality, work ethic, reliability, adaptable, professional, detailed
• Understanding and following of confidentiality/privacy rules and regulations
• Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Lamar University and Texas State University System rules and regulations.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- 2-3 years relevant experience in a colligate athletic setting or comparable and desire to work towards Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) credential
