The Sports Information Director (SID) is responsible for serving as the university’s primary sports info contact, as well as assisting in all aspects of communications, electronic media production, media relations and sports information relating to the University’s 17 intercollegiate sports: baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s track & field, men’s and women’s soccer, STUNT, men’s and women’s swimming & diving, men’s women’s tennis, women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s water polo; overseeing the production of all video and graphic content for athletics and supervising numerous student workers, interns and game-day staff.
The SID is responsible for promoting teams and student-athletes through various communication platforms, maintaining statistical records, and daily management of the athletic website and all social media accounts. The SID works closely with coaches, student-athletes, conference officials, opponent’s SIDs and sports info staffs, and the broader college community to enhance the visibility and reputation of the athletics program.
Fresno Pacific University will compete as members of the PacWest Conference through the 2025-26 academic year before transitioning to the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) in fall 2026.

Produces and creates video content.
Supports the Assistant AD in hiring, training, and supervision of student and seasonal employees in skilled positions as needed. Tracks and oversees intern hours.
Supervises student employees and assists in scheduling personnel to work athletics events.
Coordinates online and radio broadcasts of athletics events, when needed by Assistant AD.
Maintains athletics records and statistical files. Submits statistical records on time, in accordance with NCAA and PacWest Conference requirements.
Updates record books and coaches bios at the completion of each season.
Uses statistical software to keep NCAA-mandated stats and oversees official reporting of all contests to the NCAA.
Serves as the University contact with PacWest Conference (CCAA from fall 2026) and NCAA offices.
Nominates and promotes student-athletes, as well as the university, for various athletic, academic, and miscellaneous awards and honors.
Assists in/contributes to department graphic design, including all promotional materials as well as occasional work for corporate sponsors and advertisements.
Assists athletics staff in promoting game-day initiatives and accommodating the needs of visiting teams.
Works with University Communications Department on joint projects as needed.
Works with Assistant AD to coordinate set-up and production of athletics events.
Works with Athletics Administration to coordinate fundraising materials and promotion of alumni events.
Assists in the oversight of all athletics social media and works to promote FPU Athletics by managing, creating, and scheduling all content on the department’s Facebook, Twitter/X, and Instagram accounts.
Assists in the oversight of the FPU YouTube channel, as well as the creation of quality video content.
Assists in department graphic design and works to ensure correct usage of FPU trademarks and logos.
Assists in keeping record of all photography and video highlight footage for the department.
Assists in providing social media education to student-athletes and coaches.

Qualifications
Required:
An expressed personal Christian commitment and support of the Christian mission of the University.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Sport Management, Kinesiology, or related field.
Previous experience in sports information or applicable sports media.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks on strict deadlines.
Experience in social media and online promotions.
Knowledge of AP style.
Basic understanding of Statcrew and/or Genius Sports software.
Expressed commitment to NCAA legislation and compliance.
Preferred:
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Box Out (or similar).
Experience in video editing.
Experience in graphic design.
Experience with AI.
Experience in athletics marketing and/or promotions.
Environmental Conditions:
Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the time.
Frequent computer use at a workstation, up to eight hours per day.
Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
Drive personal or University vehicles to appointments.
Public contact position requiring professional apparel, personal hygiene, and grooming.
Physical Demands:
This position typically functions indoors in an office environment with light to moderate noise associated with business office equipment. The position may involve travel for meetings and events.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: remain in a stationary position 80 % of the time, be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets/office machinery etc., operate a computer and keyboard and other office productivity machinery such as calculators/copy machines/printers. The employee is occasionally required to position self to reach items on the floor and in high cabinetry.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Employee must be able to communicate with others to exchange information including both over the telephone and in-person communication with callers and community members and be able to read a computer screen and paper documents.

$68,640 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Fresno Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, FPU offers a competitive benefits package.
