The SID will serve as the institutional representative to the media for all athletic activities. ● Cooperating closely with the university’s public relations office to ensure consistent and complementary strategic plans with overall university outreach and communications
● Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to set and manage the strategic and creative direction of our live video streaming function
● Handle all Website updates, articles/Bio writing, statistical and score reporting as necessary for the 20 Varsity Sports
● Assist with, and primary contact for annual Hall of Fame Ceremony preparations/Operations
● Assist with other events as assigned including alumni events, Athlete Banquet, Grizzly Club events, and any other duties as assigned
● Assisting in promoting and creating Grizzly Club Materials
● Advertising responsibilities for Grizzly Club, including logos on website, virtual events, graphics, signage, etc.
● Main contact for all media relations regarding Adams State Athletics
● Providing pre-and post-event information (Game Previews, Game Recaps, etc)
● Managing Press Facilities, hosting visiting members of the press
● Preparing Game Programs and Statistical reports
● Main contact for both the NCAA and RMAC and will positively promote our school and department.
● Attend Media Days for the RMAC, submit schedules to the RMAC, and any other relevant information
● Promoting and solicit student-athlete honors at the RMAC, NCAA, and national organizational awards
● Promoting Student Athletes via highlight videos, SA of the month, Spotlight, and other promotional events
● Main contact for Scoreboard operations and Daktronics
● Maintaining accurate files and records
● Oversee supervision of sports information interns
● Oversee student-assistant hiring, scheduling, and supervision
● Responsible for approving all hours for work-study students for Sports Information through Workday
● Attend all home contests and stat all home events
● Writing press releases and Athletic Director reports as assigned
● In charge of running all Social Media Platforms for Adams State Athletics
● Maintaining the Adams State Athletics Website, which includes Bios, Rosters, Coaching Changes, etc. (https://asugrizzlies.com/)
● Develop and maintain a positive relationship with Adams State University Alumni and Grizzly Club Members, keeping in mind that they serve a position of vital importance to the success of our athletic programs
● This position will be responsible for assisting the administrative staff with administrative duties and general office duties
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism, communications, public relations, or any related field
● Previous sports information experience
● Knowledge and Experience working with STATCREW, Blue Frame, and Presto Sports
● Knowledge and Experience working with Hudl
● Knowledge in working with Adobe programs (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.); Daktronics video board equipment, tricaster equipment, and working with live streaming equipment via SlingStudio, OBS, and Black Magic Design
● Equitable appreciation of all sports
● Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deal with a wide variety of people in a courteous, tactful, and efficient manner
● Familiarity with NCAA standards, rules, and regulations
● Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups with a variety of identities, cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies in a global environment
● Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and to work honestly, effectively, and collegiality with employees, students, and the community. This includes the ability to use appropriate conflict management skills to effectively manage any disagreement that might arise or to bring the disagreement to management for assistance in productive resolution when the situation requires.

Salary
The pay range for this position is $42,252 to $48, 060.
