The Associate Director of Sports Nutrition will be an integral team member of the Notre Dame Sports Nutrition Department. This position will have a wide range of clinical, performance and administrative responsibilities. Roles and responsibilities include individual nutrition counseling with the use of Medical Nutrition Therapy (
MNT
), team education, body composition testing, documentation and analysis of performance nutrition outcomes and metrics, menu assistance and more.
This role will be responsible for leading the nutrition programming for assigned sports. Through regular collaboration and communication with the Student-Athlete Performance Team, including coaching personnel and athletic administration, the Associate Director will serve as the nutrition expert in the performance team.
This position will actively engage and collaborate with Strength & Conditioning coaches, Sports Medicine personnel, Grow Lead Do Center staff, and campus partners including Campus Dining and University Health Services to help maximize the potential of each student-athlete through the development and implementation of sports nutrition initiatives.
In addition to sport oversight, this role will assist the Director of Sports Nutrition in the execution of program initiatives, supporting campus partnership and assisting with various administrative duties. This position will serve as the lead mentor in the supervision of the Sports Nutrition Coordinator.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or completion of
DPD
credits; Registered Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (
AND
)
Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian in intercollegiate or professional athletics
Experience working within sports nutrition
Knowledge of
NCAA
rules and regulations, specifically in regards to supplements
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Sheets, Editor and Drive
Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent record keeping and documentation skills
Driven and takes initiative to improve systems, processes and ensures the completion of tasks with pride
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to kneel, crouch, lift, carry and move inventory up to 50 lbs.
At least one (1) year of related managerial and/or foodservice experience
Experience operating
DXA
body composition testing
Experience working with eating disorder/disordered eating population
