Requirements

Under the direction of the Head of Sports Performance, the Sports Performance Coach provides evaluation, instruction, accountability, and implementation of speed development, cardiovascular conditioning, or injury prevention as it pertains to their sport in the arena of play. They provide weight room assistance, program implementation, speed enhancement, and conditioning components for all student-athletes.   

Work Interactions

The Sports Performance Coach reports directly to the Head of Sports Performance. The Head of Sports Performance reports to the Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Health and Wellness.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree - Master’s degree preferred

  • 2 years of strength and conditioning experience, preferably at NCAA Division I level

  • Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certification: National Strength & Conditioning Assoc.  C.S.C.S (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) or S.C.C.C. (Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified)

  • Additional Certifications: S.A.C. (Speed, Agility, & Conditioning), U.S.W.F (United States Weightlifting Federation) or N.A.S.M. (National Academy of Sports Medicine – Institutional Certification)

  • Experience with Olympic style movements, working with female athletes and mass groups of athletes
