Position manages all athletic surfaces on campus, including natural play surfaces and artificial turf. Creates and maintains a maintenance program for use of playfields in accordance with NCAA standards. | | Required Qualifications |
Required:

• Two years of higher education or vocational program, or equivalent experience.
• Five years of related experience in a green industry position.
• Three years irrigation experience to include installing and maintaining institutional or commercial grade systems.
• Two years supervisory experience.
• Two years of experience managing turf at an institutional or commercial level.
• Certification from an accredited sports turf program is a condition of employment for this position (required within the first year of employment).

• A valid Utah Driver License is a condition of employment. Must complete WSU Driver Safety Training annually. | | Preferred Qualifications |
  Preferred:

• Utah Pesticide Applicators License.

• Ability to perform bulk density and soil analysis tests.

• Irrigation auditing.

• Pesticide/herbicide/fertilizer application skills.

• Knowledge of proper Integrated Pest Management Principles (IPM) and apply these principles in monitoring for pests and diseases. (Diagnostics and implementation).

• Operate and maintain sports field equipment.

• Exceptional communication skills.

• Ability to assess playability of surfaces and recommend acceptable use (demonstrate ability to deal effectively with directors and coaches in Athletics). | | A successful candidate will have the following: | | | Background Check? | Yes | | Benefits Summary |
