Overview

Assist in the overall health care delivery system for assigned athletic teams. Responsible for compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Establish all medical preparations and coverage at practices and contests for the men’s ice hockey and women’s tennis programs, including the prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and return to play decisions of injuries and/or illnesses. Implement measures to prevent injuries and prepare athletes for practice and competition, including taping, bracing, therapeutic exercise, and wearable technology. (65%)

  2. Assist and monitor physical rehabilitation of athletic related injuries. Apply therapeutic modalities, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and education to student-athletes while considering the physical and psychological aspects of their injuries. (20%)

    1. Oversee medical records for all student athletes. Coordinate summer mailing of medical forms to all student-athletes. Oversee all roster changes with all athletic teams to maintain accurate records. Maintain all medical information disseminated from pre-season physical examinations of all first-year student-athletes and report this information to team physicians and Associate Athletic Director of Sports Medicine. Ensure that all physician dictations are translated into athlete records. Monitor and report on daily census of student-athlete visits to all athletic training room facilities. (10%)
