General Description

As members of the creative video team, selected students will get the opportunity to film and create social media content for all sports on campus. This position will give students access to SFA competitions and practices in order to produce social media content that the SFA Athletics team will put out on a weekly basis. The goal for the student athletic videographer position is to provide first-hand, professional experience that can be featured on a resume and a reel for future employers to see. This is a great opportunity to learn from creative, like-minded individuals who are passionate about videography and editing. Student workers will be expected to bring an attitude of collaboration, a strong work ethic, and a creative outlook to the team. Under the supervision of the lead creative video producer, all student workers will be responsible for video and editing contributions to the external team.

Job Duties

1. Attends and captures video of various athletic practices and games on campus.2. Edits projects quickly and in a timely manner.3. Organizes and stores all video in to the appropriate locations.4. Properly handles and maintains video equipment.5. Pitches creative video ideas to the group.6. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Knowledge and skill in videography.2. Working knowledge of and familiarity with DSLR and Mirrorless cameras.3. Skill with video editing software (Premiere Pro, After effects, etc.).4. Strong work ethic.5. Ability to be punctual and reliable.5. Ability to accept constructive feedback on video to improve the final product.6. Ability to work well with others, represent the SFA external team with professionalism, and maintain our high standards of quality in communications.7. Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as events dictate.

Required Qualifications

The minimum education required for admittance as a student at Stephen F. Austin State University.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in videography.Possession of video equipment.Ability to recognize when to ask for help and guidance.

Physical Demands

1. Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.2. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Special Conditions for Eligibility

A student must be enrolled in six or more semester hours to be eligible for student employment during the fall or spring semesters. To be eligible for student employment during the summer, a student must be enrolled in three or more semester hours or be registered for courses in the upcoming fall semester.Student assistants may not hold any other type of position such as a graduate assistantship or temporary casual employment at the same time that they are employed as a student assistant.
