• Professional Development : Engage in regular professional development opportunities, including training sessions, workshops, and special assignments, to build skills essential for a career in student-athlete academic support.
• NCAA Eligibility & Compliance: Gain a successful understanding of NCAA rules and regulations regarding academic eligibility requirements.
• Academic Support and Advising : Provide personalized academic advising to a caseload of student-athletes. Assist with course selection and academic planning to ensure timely progress toward graduation. Track student-athlete academic performance through meetings and monitoring Canvas observer role.
• Communication: Build and sustain professional, respectful relationships with students, staff, and university stakeholders. Communicate effectively with the use of professional language, ensuring confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
• Collaboration : Provide support for a multitude of other projects and responsibilities that are housed within SAAS. Examples include textbooks, Bridge Orientation, Guest Coaches program, and graduation brunch.

Qualifications

 

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

 

• Master's degree.
• Previous graduate assistantship or internship in a student-athlete support center.
• Relevant experience working in a collegiate athletic academic advising office.
• Desire to enter the professional field of athletic academic services.

Anticipated Salary Range

 

The anticipated starting salary for this position is $20 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.

This is an OPS/temporary job.

Based on the duties, this position may require completion of a criminal history background check.

This position is 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule. Must be able to work early morning and late evening hours and weekends. This appointment starts on May 26, 2026 and ends May 28, 2027.
