Job Summary

Provide skills in grounds care maintenance of baseball, softball, and golf course playing fields. Responsible for the maintenance and grounds care of the baseball, softball, golf, and stadium complexes. Supervise and schedule staff and outside contractors. Manage the field operations budget and purchases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, assign, and supervise landscape maintenance of the playing fields, all grass and dirt areas, and irrigation needs at Allan Saxe Softball Field, Clay Gould Ballpark, Maverick Stadium, and the UTA golf practice complex. Prepares and maintains facilities for each UTA softball and baseball home games (e.g., performs landscape maintenance of the playing fields, grass and dirt areas, and irrigation needs of athletic fields). Supervises and schedules game day crew for all UTA softball and baseball home games. Interviews and hires suitable applicants for employment. Manages the field operations budget, completes requisitions, and distributes materials and equipment for field maintenance work. Prepares weekly reports of work performed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with Three (3) years of experience performing maintenance on baseball, softball, and/or golf course playing fields or the equivalent experience. Knowledge of playing fields and irrigation systems associated with baseball, softball, or golf course complexes. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with Five (5) years of experience performing maintenance on baseball, softball, and/or golf course playing fields.
