Assistant Coach – Track and Field

POSITION SUMMARY : Assist the Head Track and Field Coach in the fulfillment of their duties.

QUALIFICATIONS : Previous College coaching experience preferred. Other requirements include: personal affirmation of the Christian mission of Westmont College and the Community Life Statement and adherence to its behavioral expectations, clear understanding of and ability to articulate the distinctives of a Christian Liberal Arts education; strong interpersonal and demonstrated organizational skills; solid administrative and tech skills. Requires a minimum of 1 year coaching experience. Requires some experience managing projects and performing financial analysis.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assistant Coach

1. Instructs student athletes in how to maximize performance in their sport during practice and competition. This includes but is not limited to instruction through visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning methods both on the athletic field and in the classroom with study of technique, strategy, film, scouting reports, etc.
2. Develops recruitment strategies and perform direct recruiting functions as approved by the Head Coach.
3. Assists with other tasks as needed by head coach.

3. Assists with other tasks as needed by head coach.
4. Must comply with and stay educated on all Pac-West and NCAA rules. The violation of NCAA rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
5. Other duties as assigned.
