As the Ticket Sales and Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the ticketing operations for the Department of Athletics. Your main responsibilities will include getting the basketball season set up correctly in the ticket software, being the go-to person for all season ticket and mini-plan account holders for both men's and women's basketball, and developing and implementing a plan to boost revenue and attendance at athletic events.

This position will be tasked with achieving weekly, monthly, and seasonal sales goals. The chosen candidate will work assigned sales, promotional, and team events to develop new prospects and referral opportunities during and outside business hours. The Ticket Sales and Operations Manager will track all contacts with customers via ticketing software. Lastly, this position will staff home events for much of SIUE’s eight ticketed sports, including all men’s and women’s basketball games.

About Civil Service Examination/Testing: The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of application materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, your application will move forward for examination/testing in which you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. This score will be emailed to the email address noted on your application. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled. Exam scores will be delivered from the civil service system apps@sucss.illinois.gov.

Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position. Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Driver’s License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days will result in immediate termination of employment.

Additional Information: This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship. International students at SIUE on F-1 or J-1 visas are not eligible for full-time or part-time civil service positions with permanent status. F-1 and J-1 visa holders must be enrolled full-time and can only apply for temporary part-time roles working 20 hours or less per week during spring and fall semesters, such as student worker positions, assistantships, and civil service extra help roles.
