Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, the Ticket Sales & Operations Manager oversees all aspects of ticketing and related operations and is responsible for driving ticket sales, ensuring excellent customer service, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to elevate the game-day experience and enhance fan engagement.
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience in sales, account management or marketing.
At least two years of experience in ticket sales or operations, preferably in a collegiate or professional sports environment.
Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience leading a team or managing student staff.
Knowledge of event and sports operations, sports ticketing best practices and
CRM
platforms.
Familiarity with
NCAA
Division I athletics and fan engagement strategies.
Exceptional communication, organizational, problem-solving and customer service skills.
Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and coaches from diverse backgrounds.
Sufficient technical skill to master required software.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Develop and Implement Strategic Sales Plans
Develops and implements comprehensive and data-driven ticket sales strategies to maximize revenue generation for all ticketed Winthrop Athletics events, as well as other ticketed events (e.g., Homecoming, Eagle Club auction, etc.).
Oversees the integrity and efficient management of the ticket database and ticketing platforms to ensure accurate sales tracking and reporting and optimal revenue capture.
Manages outbound sales strategies and their execution.
Manage and Lead Ticket Sales Team
Manages the daily operations of the Athletics Ticket Office.
Assists in budget planning and forecasting.
Implements and maintains robust customer service protocols to address inquiries, resolve issues and provide a positive experience for all ticket purchasers.
Recruits, hires, trains, supervises and motivates a high-performing ticket sales team that includes part-time staff, graduate assistants and student workers.
Cultivate Relationships and Drive Group Sales
Identifies, cultivates and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local businesses, community organizations, churches, schools and alumni groups, to generate group ticket sales.
Develops and implements targeted outreach strategies.
Creates compelling group ticket packages and incentives.
Provides exceptional customer service to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Tracks and reports on group sales efforts and their contribution to overall revenue goals.
Collaborates in the facilitation of corporate sponsorship agreements and Eagle Club memberships through ticket/seat selection, special initiatives, in-game sponsorship activation and digital/social media marketing.
Analyze Data and Report on Sales Performance
Uses ticketing system data and analytics to track, analyze and report on sales performance.
Generates regular reports on key metrics, such as sales revenue, ticket distribution, attendance trends and campaign effectiveness.
Identifies areas for improvement and provides data-driven insights to inform future sales strategies and pricing decisions.
Generate Digital Revenue and Provide Marketing Support
Collaborates with the marketing and communications teams to develop and execute revenue- generation strategies.
Position requires evening and weekend work.
