The Utility Coach is a specialized coaching position that requires experience in administration, operations, and coaching a variety of collegiate sports. The Utility Coach is responsible for interacting with seven sports in multiple capacities, including but not limited to:

• Fleet Manager
  
• Assistant Equipment Manager

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary accountabilities below describe the general content and requirements of the position.

• Assists head coach in planning practices, team functions, scheduling competitions, training, development, and recruiting student-athletes.
  
• Coordination of Strength and Conditioning:
  
  • Serves as the strength and conditioning coach for Cross Country, Softball, Tennis, Baseball, and Volleyball.
    
  • Creates customized workouts for each team and maintains the Olympic Sports Weight Room in Henderson Building/Epps Gymnasium.
    
• Game Day Operations:
  
  • Assists management staff with operations for all home games in football, softball, tennis, baseball, and volleyball.
    
  • Develops and implements game day operations plan.
    
  • Monitors/supervises assigned areas, including Football Stadium, Epps Gym, and Bill Evans Field.
    
• Management:
  
  • Participates as a viable member of the Management Team in daily operations.
    
  • Monitors and tracks assigned facility enhancement projects.
    
• Recruiting:
  
  • Assists head coaches in seven sports with the recruitment of student-athletes to Clark Atlanta University.
    
• Administrative Duties:
  
  • Organizes and manages the pre-season schedule.
    
  • Develops and instructs student-athletes in academic and athletic (offensive) goals.
    
  • Coordinates team travel.
    
  • Assists the head coach with NCAA and NJAC compliance.
    
• Performs other administrative duties as assigned.

The successful candidate should be detail-oriented and possess:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  
• Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  

Minimum Hiring Standards:

Education:
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years of college coaching experience required.
- Master's degree and 4 years of college coaching experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years of college coaching experience.
- Must be certified as an NCAA strength and conditioning coach.
- Must obtain a CDL within six months of hire.
- Demonstrates high personal and professional standards, fostering a work environment based on trust, respect, and dignity.
- Practices sound work habits as they relate to internal control responsibilities.
- Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA Rules and Regulations, including attending NCAA Rules Seminars and completing all necessary NCAA forms in a timely manner.
- Must adhere to the Code of Ethics as set forth by Clark Atlanta University.

Years of Management/Supervisor Experience:
- 3 years or more.
