Video Coordinator – Men’s Basketball

Overview: Long Island University (LIU) seeks a detail-oriented and technically skilled Video Coordinator to support the men’s basketball program. This position plays a critical role in the daily operations of the team by managing all video-related functions, including film capture, breakdown, analysis, and distribution. The successful candidate will work closely with the coaching staff to enhance team performance, support scouting and recruiting efforts, and maintain the video and technology infrastructure of the program.

Responsibilities: • Video Operations: Film and edit all practices, games, and workouts. Prepare detailed breakdowns for coaching use, including opponent scouting, game review, and player development. Maintain a well-organized video library for quick access and archival use. • Scouting Support: Assist coaching staff with video-based opponent scouting by creating detailed edits, play diagrams, and personnel breakdowns. • Recruiting Support: Produce highlight packages and assist in compiling recruiting film to support the staff’s evaluation of prospective student-athletes. • Game & Practice Support: Coordinate setup and operation of video equipment at all home and away games, ensuring high-quality footage is captured. Travel with the team as needed. • Technology Management: Manage and maintain all video-related equipment, software, and infrastructure. Stay current with emerging technologies and software tools that can enhance video analysis and coaching efficiency. • Compliance: Ensure all video practices and recruiting materials are in compliance with NCAA, NEC, and university policies. Maintain strict confidentiality of all team and studentathlete materials. • Administrative Support: Assist with scheduling, film exchange logistics, data entry, and various day-to-day operational needs of the program as assigned by the head coach.

Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; degree in sports management, communications, or a related field preferred. • Experience: 1–2 years of experience in video coordination or basketball operations at the collegiate or professional level preferred. • Skills: Proficiency in video editing and analysis software such as Synergy, Hudl, Sportscode, and Adobe Premiere. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. • Knowledge: Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations. Understanding of basketball systems, terminology, and strategy.
