Job Summary/Basic Function
The Assistant Football Coach supports all aspects of a NCAA Division II football program with a primary focus on teaching, instruction, and student-athlete development. This role assists with on-field coaching, skill development, film analysis, practice and game preparation, recruiting, and overall program operations. The position requires a strong commitment to student-athlete success, academic achievement, compliance with NCAA/PSAC regulations, and fostering a positive team culture aligned with Shepherd University Athletics.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Collegiate and/or high-level football playing or coaching experience
- Demonstrated ability in teaching, instruction, and skill development
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- CPR/AED certification required (must obtain if not certified at time of hire)
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior collegiate coaching experience
- Recruiting experience at the NCAA level
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations (Division II preferred)
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
- Valid driver’s license
